About Us
PAREDOS (Parent Education for Development in Barbados), a non- profit organisation, was launched to inform and educate parents/guardians in parenting skills. PAREDOS is guided by an Executive Committee and managed by a Director and highly qualified staff. A team of professional resource persons and trained volunteers provide technical assistance.

PAREDOS is represented on the Advisory Committee on Family and the Committee on the Rights of the Child. It has developed partnerships with the private sector, Government Agencies International Organisations, other NGO’s and individuals to deliver Parent Education and Support Programmes to families.
Early Childhood Education
PAREDOS Day Care Centre is designed to expose children 3 months - 4½ years to a wide range of developmental and learning strategies, allowing each child to reach his/her full spiritual, physical, intellectual, creative, emotional and social potential while providing parent education and support to their parents.
PARENT EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT IN BARBADOS
Objectives
Provide families with information, guidance and counselling on parenting and other family related matters.
Raise the level of awareness of the importance of responsible family life in National Development through education programmes.
Deliver quality childcare to children 3 months - 4½ years of age and provide support and guidance to their parents.
Funding
PAREDOS is funded entirely from grants, donations, covenants, a government subvention, fund-raising activities and membership drives.
Parent Outreach Programme
Paredos makes presentation of topics related to parenting to schools, churches, polyclinics, workplaces, community and sporting clubs on invitation. We invite parents who have successfully raised children to share with younger parents. These presentations are facilitated by trained qualified volunteers. PAREDOS reaches thousands of families through its community outreach and radio programmes. The aim is to empower parents and raise the awareness of young people to their responsibilities in matters relating to family life.
